DSL Moving

Benutzerebene 3

I am moving in a month and would like to take my DSL contract along, but when I tried to check my new address, it said O2 service unavailable there.

Hello @richard_degh ,

are you perchange moving into a newly build house? In that case the address might still be missing from our databanks at this point in time.

In case that you do move to an area that is not supported through o2, then you will be able to end your contract with us prematurely.

Kind regards, Sven

Hello @o2_Sven ,

Thanks for the response.

Kindly open a private message channel for me so that I can give you the address. It’s an existing house, in a city of more than 16,000 inhabitants; I don’t know why things would be so bad. For comparison, my current town has around half of the inhabitants.

Regards

Richard

Hello @richard_degh,

I was happy to check your case again, in the meantime you had also contacted our customer service. VDSL is not available at your new address, only the slower ADSL. As a result, we can no longer offer your tariff at the new address.

In this case, there is an extraordinary right of termination. You can use our termination form for this. Choose “Außerordentlich” (extraordinary). Please also submit/upload a copy of your registration confirmation from the residents’ registration office at the new address. Your contract will then be terminated prematurely.

Of course you could also choose to downgrade your tariff or change to a mobile connection instead.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Best regards

Giulia

Dear @o2_Giulia,

Thanks for the information. Yes, I did speak with CS and all is in order. I’ll send in the documents as soon as the registration at the new address is done.

It’s a shame, but I’m glad a solution somewhat exists. Unfortunately downgrading to the level of speed O2 offers at the address won’t work for my needs. Plus a mobile connection is currently out of consideration for me. Should that position be reviewed then I’d contact O2 immediately.

Kind regards,

Richard

@richard_degh Thanks for the update and the kind words, even when there is no satisfactory solution in the first place.

All the best.

Kind regards Matze

@o2_Matze

I would like to open this thread again and I swear I’m beginning to dislike O2. First of all I moved and O2 couldn’t provide the service at my new address. I asked then for cancellation with extraordinary reasons. I had to provide the registration for the new address, send several cancellations, including one with registered letter. Finally it was indicated that the contract was cancelled until 25.11.2022. And now I just decided to check. To my shock, that is no longer the case. What’s going on?!

Dear @richard_degh ,

unfortunately, the my o2 app does not show correct termination dates. 😕 Your DSL contract was deactivated on November 25th.

So everything shoud be fine.

Kind regards,

Andrea

Dear @o2_Andrea,

That’s a relief!
