upgrade my plan

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to change my existing DSL plan to a Home M LTE plan. How can I do that and what steps do I need to take?
My german is not so good and it is difficult for me to do that over the phone in german.
I regularly would go to the nearby shop but due to COVID, it is not possible at the moment.
Please let me know as soon as possible how we can solve this problem.

Best regards,
Dmitri Dreyer

I would like to change my existing DSL plan to a Home M LTE plan.

A tariff change from an o2 DSL tariff to an o2 mobile tariff is not being offered by o2 at the moment.

Besides, I would generally advise against the o2 my Home mobile tariffs; in my opinion, they are not a suitable substitute for a DSL connection and the product is immature.

Hello @Dmitri Dreyer and welcome to our o2 community :-)

Under some circumstances changing the connection from a cable to wireless mobile may be tmepting. In most cases a connection over a copperbased cable is to be prefered. Over a DSL connection fpor exaple you have the connection seed that you measure always for yourself while an access over a mobile network is shared with other people also accessing the network. So it may happen that the speed and latency may differ from one moment to another.

May I ask what the reason behind this question is? Maybe there is a better solution than switching to a mobile connection :-)

Regards,

Lars

Dear Lars,

Unfortunately, my house has an old cable system with a very slow connection. Even with my current plan ”Home M” which is Download 50 Mbit/s and Upload 10Mbit/s. I get reading of not more than Download 15Mbit/s and Upload 5Mbit/s.
What cane you suggest?

Thanks and best regards,

Dmitri Dreyer

Hi @Dmitri Dreyer

I have checked your address and I am very confident, that it is possible now to switch your DSL Port from a slow ADSL Port (max Speed 16Mbit) to a VDSL Port (max speed in your tariff is 50Mbit) .

When activating your DSL in 2019 VDSL wasnt available at your address, but now two years later it should be possible to switch the technology.

Please get back to us if you want us to get going.

Hello! I have a similar problem, the technician came and said there was a problem on the cable between my flat and the buildings DSL box. Is it possible to change then my contract to the LTE/5G home? My girlfriend had the free testing card and it was enough for our use, so I wanted to go that way.

Hi @jbcpatricio

welcome to our community.

Unfortunately a change to mobile internet out of a DSL technology is not possible. If the problem with the cable is still unsolved: did you get in touch with the customer service once again to ask for another appointment?

Greetings
