Transfer contract from DSL to Cable

I’m currently getting extremely slow download speeds via DSL (only 16mbps), but it seems like I’m in an area where cable is available (the landlord would need to connect it, but every other house on the road has this available up to 250mbps). I am currently just over 12 months into a 24 month contract on my current DSL plan (My Home M) -- would it be possible to transfer this contract to cable, or would I have to have 2 contracts until the 24 months are up on the DSL one?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @inapptom

welcome to our community.

Unfortunately it is not possible to change the tariff on a different technology. So you have two options how to get along with the situation. You take a second contract and cancel the existing DSL by the end of the period or you will wait until the end of the contract and then start a new one.

Have you checked on https://www.telekom.de/festnetz/tarife-und-optionen/internet-dsl if fast DSL is available? If Telekom offers a high speed you can ask for a change of technology with your existing contract. Using My Home M can be changed to VDSL 50000 if available.

Would you like to take a look?

Greetings

DSL only up to 16Mbps available at my address, and I can’t really afford two contracts at the same time :( guess I’ll wait until the contract is up and see what is best then

Hello @inapptom,

maybe it will be possible to change the technology regarding the internet connection to a later date, unfortunately we can neither confirmthat this will happen nor give a timescale for this.

Lars

Is this now possible? Our DSL is struggling (100Mb) with both of us working from home full time now.

Hi @malarek,
welcome to our community!
Do you already checked the possible connections at your adress?

Larissa
