SpeedPort Compatibility and New DSL Deployment Questions

Hello,

I am planning to sign up for a new DSL Internet Connection. Couple of questions.

I read in the German section that Telekom SpeedPort Routers are compatible with O2. (I can configure it manually not a problem). I am not going to use Telephone service anyways.

  1. I wanted to check if its compatible although it’s using the same DSL TAE connection.
  1. How long are the DSL Deployment time? Can appointment be scheduled for Deploying in advance? How long are wait times after Ordering what is the approx processing and appointment time?

Thank you!

Hi @daffy78791

welcome to our English Community. Nice that you think about ordering a new o2 DSL-contract.

In order to be a bit more precise, I would like to let you know the procedure to activate a DSL-contract:

First of all, after you ordered a DSL-contract, the connection is commissioned to the line provider, who checks whether the lines are available at the specific address. The connection date will be communicated within approx. one week after receipt of the order. The activation-date is usually approx. 2-3 weeks after receipt of order. When porting an existing number, the connection date depends on the processing time of the previous provider.

We will contact you as soon as the line provider has confirmed the date for the connection to be activated.

So altogether, we need approx. 3-4 weeks until you can use your DSL-line, but of course it can also take longer depending on the line provider and other technical hindrances.

If you have any further questions, just feel free to contact us here.

Please check also our DSL-tariffs here: Our DSL-tariffs Do you already know which tariff is convenient for you?

In order to find out which tariff is possible at your connection-address, please have a look here: Availability of internet at your connection-address

I hope that you now have a better feeling with this information and hope to welcome you soon as a new customer.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Hello,

I ordered a DSL on the weekend. I sadly got no confirmation but missed a O2 Call on Monday.

When I called back they said the Order was not processed so they placed a new order, sadly my Activation Date/Appointment Date for the Order/Connection changed to another date 08.11.2021 than before 05.11.2021.

Currently I am getting emails saying there is existing o2 Connection active but the address in that email is wrong. Now I am confused if the order has gone through and if the address is correct.

Thank you

Hello @daffy78791,

in case the confirmed address for the DSL connection is not the address that you ordered the DSL connection for I recommend to get in touch with our customer service as soon as possible. The earlier this can be solved the sooner you will have a working internet connection at your desired address :-)

Regarding your question to a Spedeport router: “Spededport” is the name for a whole product familiy, so please make sure the modell you are using supports VDSL 2 vectoring. I personally do not recommend using a used provider device, no matter what provider it comes from since in some cases these devices are locked to connection. It may be possible that you may experience limitations in usage up to not working at all.

Regards,

Lars
