Hi, I know what Fair Use is and I always care about that and try to not get that.

But I don't know why, Today I got a reduced internet speed and it says 'Da Sie Ihr Datenvolumen aufgebraucht haben, wurde Ihre Surfgeschwindigkeit am 24.11.2017 auf 2 MBit/s reduziert. Ab dem surfen Sie wieder mit der Maximalgeschwindigkeit Ihres Tarifes. Sie haben die Möglichkeit, Ihr Datenvolumen zu erweitern.'. But I'm sure and I checked my Data Volume details. I have never reached over 3 months in a row. I think I don't need to write my information everything so I'm gonna write simple things to let you know what problem I have. I have 400GB data volume and I used 392GB for October (02.10 - 02.11) and I've used 411GB for November (02.10-25.11) and I have never got 'Fair Use' before. It already proves that I have no reason to get Fair Use. Today is Saturday and I realized that at midnight so, I have nothing to contact with you guys O2. So, I hope to figure out that on this Hilfe-Forum.

Please Help me, and If any O2 assistance needs my further information to figure out this problem, please let me know.

Thank you and Have a Nice day !

===> I have 400GB data volume and I used 392GB for October (02.10 - 02.11) and I've used 411GB for November (02.11-25.11)

(02.10-25.11) ===> (02.11-25.11)

P.s) I have a really important thing to download on Sunday. It is more than 10GB so, if this speed limit keeps going, It takes time more than 18Hours to be download completed. If I understand wrong about the Fair Use, I'm really sorry about this but I don't think I'm wrong for now and really feels bad. I just keep having a hope, I know there is no assistance who works on Sunday though. BUT PLEASE GOD! JESUS! BUDDHA! ALLAH! O2! HELP ME !!!  :X

Hello Beaux,

in this source
https://www.o2online.de/dsl-festnetz/fair-use/
it is told that there are some DSL contracts with a Limit of 300 GB per month, some with 500 GB. A Limit of 400 GB is not mentioned.

Probably your contract covers only 300 GB. Probably you have exceeded the Limit in three consecutive months. Otherwise your Speed would not be reduced in this way. Now in every other following month your Speed is limited to 2 Mbit/s as soon as you exceed the Limit.

Solution: Buy additional volume, see the link. I would expect that you can book this Option in your "Mein O2" menu.

If you want to check your data Limit, please ring

Kundenbetreuungs-Hotline
Telefon: 089 - 78 79 79 400
gemäß Tarif für Anrufe in das deutsche Festnetz.

Thank you. so It means how many data volume I have, It doesn't matter and if I have exceeded 300GB limit in 3 consecutive months and I exceed my data limit in the 4th month, I would get a reduced speed limit. Oh.... I got it, If I understand that mechanism early, I would not have purchased additional data volume. 😶 so difficult to use the internet service in Germany even it's not about a data of Handy. lol

Anyway, I think, additional volume is available to purchase only once. So, It can't be a solution for me and I have to call to the hotline to purchase the unlimited data. At this point, why I can not purchase the unlimited data on the internet? is there something... special things to do? I mean, I'm not good at German and my friend told me that, someone can speak in English but it's random and they don't try to put another assistance who can speak in English on the phone so, I'm just worried about that.

Do I have to just try to call consistently? or Is there any others way for the people who are like me?

Sorry for my so many questions and worries 😀

Probably I misunderstood you in the first instance. You do have a contract with data limit 300 GB/month and you activated the additional 100 GB/month traffic option without having exceeded the Fair Use Mechanik limit of 300 GB in three consecutive months before?And now the question is what happens when you exceed this 400 GB limit?
Apparently there is no "400-GB-Fair-Use-Mechanik" for your case additionally to the existing 300-GB-Fair-Use-Mechanik in ordinary contracts. So the traffic speed seems to be reduced already in the first calculation period in which you exceed the 400 GB.Additionally things might be a little complicated by calculation periods of four weeks instead of the calendar month, I´m not really sure about that. .

Did you have a look in your "Mein O2"-Account?
DSL & Festnetz -> Mein DSL & Festnetz -> Produktinfo -> Aktivierte Optionen
DSL & Festnetz -> Mein DSL & Festnetz -> Weitere Optionen
Do you have the option "Unlimited traffic" in "Weitere Optionen"?
Is it marked "from hotline only"? According to the source
https://www.o2online.de/dsl-festnetz/fair-use/
the additional volume is an option of your contract which has to be cancelled 4 weeks prior to the end of the month to stop it. So the earliest time you can cancel this option by giving notice now is 31.12.2017. Maybe you will only be able to purchase the unlimited traffic option online after this date. Well, I think in most European countries apart from the United Kingdom you might by chance meet some people with excellent English language capabilities but the average person has average knowledge of English and there are people with rather limited or no knowledge of English at all.

So whereas you may call repeatedly the best option in any country will be to try to find a native speaker to help with such phone calls. Maybe she or he will be able to change your options to unlimited volume by negotiation prior to 1.1.2018, but certainly not earlier than on Monday.
 .

I think I have to wait until Monday and then call to O2 or go to O2 shop to make sure about these things.

Thank you so much RudiRatschlag I could know many useful things from you.

Have a nice day!
