DSL contract cancelation due to moving into a new flat


Hi there! I am moving into a new flat on Nov 1, which has the same O2 internet tariff as my current one (DSL M) already in place. 

Therefore I would like to cancel my current contract as of 31st Oct.

Can you assist me with that?

Do you have a 2 year contract?

If yes please take a look at you invoice there should be a cancel Date! (Kündigungsdatum).

If you have a DSL M FLEX than it is possible for a  Cancellation 4 weeks to the end of the month.

If not fill out https://www.o2online.de/service/dsl-umzug/ if O2 is not able to connect you the you are able to leave the contract before the period of validity.

THanks for the reply! My current contract is expiring in March 2021. Please note that the new flat I am moving into already has an O2 DSL plan in place, which I will share with the owner of the plan.

 

Therefore, I filling the Umzug form is not what I need, since I am not looking to move my contract, but rather to termante it earlier than March 2021.

but moving to a another flat is nothing that has cause by O2!

So you have to fulfil your contract that has a runtime of 2 years. The only way to get an early cancellation is to fill out the moving form. If O2 can’t install the lane than you get out earlier, with a onetime fee.

So what i would do is to cancel the contract NOW for March 2021.

And than fill out the moving form. With luck you get out of you contract, with lesser luck you get a 2nd line until march.

By the way, i cant understand why u guys are not using the flex contract?

That gives you a cancellation 4 weeks to the end of the month.

And the Monthly fee is not higher.. 

If you don't like my answer, wait for an O2 employee.

Long story short, I am moving in with my partner to a new flat. However, she moved into the flat before me, therefore she transferred her old contract into the new flat.

Over the phone, one of the O2 reps told her that since we both had the same type of plan, what I can do is to request earlier termination of mine by sending a formal letter, citing her Festnetznummer and Kundenummer, as well as mine.

However, I haven’t been able to find ifurther information on the topic anywhere. I did sent an email to impressum@cc.o2online.de (as advised by the rep) some time ago but still haven’t heard back

as “Einwurfeinschreiben” with your request.

In any case you should cancel your contract for 03.2021! If you forget to do you have to pay 1 year longer!!

 

And don’t forget to send the HomeBox back!

DSL Router Retoure nach Vertragsende

Prüfe im O2 DSL Rücksendeportal, ob eine Rücksendung deines Routers erforderlich ist.
In der Regel sind die von O2 bereitgestellten DSL-Router Leihgeräte und daher nach Vertragsende oder bei Widerruf eines neu bestellten Routers an uns zurückzusenden. 
Für die Rücksendung kannst du dir im O2 DSL-Rücksendeportal einen kostenfreien Retourenschein ausdrucken.

Check the O2 DSL return portal to see whether it is necessary to return your router.
As a rule, the DSL routers provided by O2 are loan devices and must therefore be returned to us after the end of the contract or when a newly ordered router is revoked.
For the return, you can print out a free return slip in the O2 DSL return portal.

We need a official form from the “EinwohnerMeldeamt” which proves that you moved to the new address. 

Then it is important that you name the o2 Contract holder you move to (Name, fixedline number and if available the customer account number) , then we will deactive your contact out of good will 

without a notice peroid.

Many thanks for the assistance. I sent the letter alongside the proof of the new address some weeks ago. My Vertragstatus now shows”gekündigt zum 27.03.2021”. 

Can you please cofirm this is sufficient to terminate my contract as requested as of Nov 2020?

Additionally should I be sending back the router as suggested by @schluej

Hello @tivanov,

I had a look into this, you already sent all necessary documents, I informed the department that takes care of cancelations to have a look into this so your contract can be terminated as soon as possible.

I suggest to send back the router using our DSL logistics portal as soon as you have a confirmation that the contract will be terminated to an earlier date :-)

Thanks for that. Would I receive the confirmation by post? If so, just wanted to make sure it will be sent to my new address (already updated my correspondance settings).

It’s been a month and I still haven’t received any confirmation from  O2 regarding the contract termination. I tried explaining to the situation over the phone but without much luck.

 

Can you please confirm what’s the status and if anything additional is needed?

Nothing in the spam folder either, already checked. The last piece of comms I have from O2 in my inbox is from Dec 2 and is unfortunately an invoice :)

hm… strange. YOu still recieved no information from us in any way? Be it email or letter? I had a ook into it, it seems like the contract will end to the normal end date, an earlier cancelatio ndate was denied since it is possible to nmove your DSL connection to the new address. :-/

I was in the exact same situation (also no Flex contract, also moved in with my partner who already had a contract with O2) but did not know about the moving form, and instead sent a letter to O2 with all the information and justifications. I didn’t get a response and had to call the Hotline to hear back from them, where a very nice O2 employee was kind enough to email me copies of letters that were apparently sent to me but that I never received. This is how I learned that I had to follow up by forwarding my registration, which I did.

At no point in time was I informed by O2 about the existence of this form and now, I just received a letter that I have to pay until the end of the initial contract (April 2022). Can somebody help me? Is there anyone I can talk to about the mistake/misunderstanding that seem to have happened here?

The form is not neccessary to send in a cancellation, it can as well be written freehand.
