Cancelling the current contract and changing other persons contract to my name


Hello,

I have a question regarding cancellation of O2 connection. I have taken monthly contract meaning I can cancel my contract monthly. Now I have shifted to new home which already has the O2 connection.

Now I want my old contract to be cancelled and change this house O2 contract to my name. Please could some one throw some light on this topic and do the needful.

first of all, welcome to our forum. Nice that you have found your way to us. :-)

 

If you want to transfer an o2 contract from an other contract holder, the old contract holder has to start a change of ownership (in “My o2” or the My o2 App): o2online.de → Mein o2 → Tarif & Optionen → Vertrag verwalten

He or she hat to fill out the informations to the new contract holder (you) an take note of the terms of contract and confirm by ticking the box → sending

You will receive an email with a link. Fill out order and confirm change of contract holder.

The new contract holder (you) will be charged with 29,99 Euro.

 

Your own contract can be cancelled by sending a cancellation to the following address:

Fax: 01805 571 766 (0,14 EUR/Min. aus dem dt. Festnetz, Mobilfunk max. 0,42 EUR/Min.)

Thank you for your reply.

For the cancellation part, you had asked me to send a request to a mailing address. Will I be sending the letter to you regarding cancellation? If yes, what should be the content in the letter, i need format. Also what should be the “From Name” in the letter such that O2 understands that the cancellation request is from me.

Dear @koppadrbk007 ,

 

for a contract cancellation you can send a letter with your name and address and either your phonenumber of that contract that you want to cancel or your customer number of that contract to our address.

Note, that you want to cancel your contract to next possible date or note a special date.

Your contract ends every 24th of a month, you have a concellation period of 30 days

So if you send a cancelleation e.g. next Friday the 29th, the cancellation will be effective to  April 24th. → February 29th → 30 days → March 29th → contract ends April 24th

It is important that you have to sign that letter together with a date.

Thank you for the information.

The person who wants to transfer the contract to my name is not having the “Personliche Kundenkennzahl”  as he is not having physical contract letter with him, So he is not able to login and proceed further.

xxx/  xxxx is his O2 number. Please could you send this person the mail and do the needful such that he can initiate the change of contract to my name.

This is to inform you that already the person with phone number xxx/  xxxx has applied for his “Personal Customer ID”.Its been already a week but he has not  received the letter form O2.

Please could you help him in getting the person number “Personal Customer ID”

and do the needful.

the personal customer identification number is sent by the German postal service. It can take up to five working days until it arrives. Has the personal customer identification number arrived at the delivering customer in the meantime? If not, he/she should contact us again and order the shipment again (please have the contact address checked, the personal customer code will be sent there).

Yes, my friend had requested for personal identification number.

Its been more then a week now. He had requested it again now.

 

The reply is like this:

Thank you very much.

If you have not changed your contact address in the past weeks, we will send you your personal customer code immediately by post. 

 

Please could you check and let me know whether the letter is dispatched and do the needful.

The only contract on your name is your o2 My Home Flex. As I said above, it is not your contract, so I can’t give you any the information about that DSL contract. :confused:

Its been more then 15 days i have transferred one of my colleagues O2 contract to my name. Please could you check the same and revert whether the transfer is successful or not.

Thank you for the confirmation, I could see both the contracts on my name in O2.

One of my contract ends this month, So please let me know whether I should be returning the Router?

If yes, please let me know whether I should be posting it on my expenses or will O2 cover the expenses to get the router back. Also please could you let me know the address to which i will be sending the Router and do the needful.

Please use our return portal for the shipment of your router. Here you can also print out a return label or download a mobile package label as a QR code. The return shipment is done with DHL and is free of charge.

I see in the portal the following:
“Letzte Rechnung vom 23.06.2020 fällig zum 30.06.2020” : 91,81 €

Please could you let me know why am I charged this much amount. As per my current contract I should be charged only 20-25 euro. I am surprised by seeing this amount.

Our colleagues from logistics said you didnt return the router in time,

that is the reason why they charged you nearly 70 Euro as a compensation fee.

Ah, it was difficult for me to return the router on time in this Corona time. Will there be any discount?

Also i could get the label for return. Should i just paste that label on that box and send it or should i pack it and then paste the label to send. It would be really helpful if you could tell me the process. I will try to send the router as soon as possible.

As discussed I have returned the device and I have got the mail from o2 as below.

“Lieber Ravi Koppad,
wir freuen uns Ihnen mitteilen zu können, dass die Bearbeitung Ihres Rücksendeauftrags XXXXXXXXXX für das Gerät mit der Seriennummer XXXXXXXXXX abgeschlossen ist.

Details zum Rücksendestatus können Sie unter Angabe der Serien- und der Auftragsnummer jederzeit einsehen.”

 

Hope this means that the device has reached to o2. Please check if the refund is possible and do the needful.

Hello @koppadrbk007,

if you send back the router within a short time after the billing of the device took place you should recieve this amount transfered back to your back account within 2 - 4 weeks. Could you please have a alook at your bank statements if you find this amount of money? :-)

When did you send back the router and when did you recieve the email that your device was returned to us?

good news: your router was received at our logistics department and the refund has already been initiated on Friday. Please note that it can take four to six weeks until the money is credited to your account however.

So i have trying to cancel my o2 DSL connection for more than a month now but it seems like O2 doesn't want me to cancel it. I got the connection when i was living in a WG with 6 people but now that the WG is being renovated, we all had to move out. And the place i moved to already has wi-fi connections. So i don't need my O2 dsl contract anymore. But O2 customers service said that its not a good reason for me to cancel my contract. Like what?????? Does that even sound fair ? Like if i do not need your contract, why you forcing me to keep it ? The contract ends  in Oct 2022 but i cannot keep paying for so long ! I tried calling them multiple times( when they took 20 mins to pick up my call ! ) and whenever i go to their branch in Roßmarkt, their "system is always down". And they say they cannot help me cancel.  

Can you please help me cancel this unnecessary contract with O2 ? I am really sick and tired of this.

Please help me 😫.
