Cancelling DSL contract from abroad - do not have router

Hello,

I wish to cancel my o2 DSL contract from abroad. I believe I know the process, I fill in the cancellation form and provide the necessary documents, however I do not have my router any more to return. How do I proceed? Do I just note this on the forms and get an additional fee for this?

Hello @alexweiland and welcome to our o2 community :-)

I am glad to hear that you already have all necessary information regarding the cancelation of your contract. In case you had the router you could have send it back using our DSL logistics portal. If you don’t have the router any more or can not send it back for other reasons we will charge a compensation with one of the following invoices.

I hope this answers your questions, if there is still something unclear feel free to ask, we will answer as soon as possible :-)

Regards,

Lars

Hello, I checked my router and I don’t need to return it! :)

A few more questions from me… Could you give me an example of the following documents:

  • a registration certificate of your present place of residence (would a rental lease work?)
  • a notification of your new, foreign domicile (alternatively a confirmation of your employer or landlord) (what information needs to be on this? Would a pay slip work?)

Do I also need to send my proof of deregistration of my German address? And lastly, I do not know my landline or customer number? Would that information be on my direct debit details from my bank account payment to o2 each month?

Thank you for your help.

Hi @alexweiland,

yes, we need the proof that you really leave the country for good and you are not going on a holiday for a few weeks abroad. This is why we need the deregistration certificate and any kind of document showing you really stay abroad. A rental conctract is okay also a confirmation of your employer.

Your customer number can be found in your debiting starting with 60…. (ten digits)

Greetings

Hello,

I sent all of my forms and paperwork to o2 from the United States around the last week of May 2020. I never received any information back about my contract being cancelled or confirmation the information was received and I am still being charged each month. Could you please check on this for me and the current status. My customer number is: xxxxxxxxx.

Thanks
