O2 contract cancellation mobilfunk, moving out of Germany

Hello,

I wanted to cancel my o2 mobilfunk contract as I am moving out of germany to Bangladesh in April 2018. I have sent you the application for contract cancellation where the abmeldungsbestätigung was also attached on 12.04.2019 via email, Fax, and also by Post. My mobile number is 01********23

Two days later you sent me a form to be filled up with new address in my country which I filled up,signed and sent back. Also as a proof of new address, You asked in the email to provide

- a notification of your new, foreign domicile
- alternatively to the registration certificate a confirmation of your new employer or landlord

Unfortunately, We don' have any address registration system back in Bangladesh as you have here in Germany and I am not employed by any employer at present. Nevertheless, I called your customer care number https://tel:+4989787979400and asked if the address written on my passport would be ok as a proof of my new address (the same address I mentioned in the form, which I had to sent you back earlier). She said, yes that would be ok.This has been sent on 16.04.2019 after waiting for a while for your response.

Now, I am still waiting for the confirmation of my 02 contract cancellation. It is 19.04.2019. I do not know how long I still have wait to get a cancellation of my contract. If you need any other information, please let me know. But please process this request as fast as you can.

You mentioned earlier that I still have to pay three months tariff and which would be charged later from my account. Previously, I requested you to close my contract on 29.04.2019 (my flying date 28.04.2019) and charge the remaining bill altogether from my bank account before 15.05.2019 because my bank account will be closed after 15 May,2019. I have not got any reply regarding this too.

At this point, I would greatly appreciate your help if you could just let me know when will I get any confirmation from you.

P.S. Later I realized I did not send you my air ticket booking. If that is also needed, please let me know.

Hi @faisal06,

welcome to the o2 community!

The most important news at the very beginning:
It has been confirmed that your contract will be cancelled on 30th April 2019, which means 29th April will be the last day of your contract. ☑️
You can verify this on your Mein o2 website on the right side of the landing page: "gekündigt zum: 30.04.2019"

Now, regarding the final payment: You will get one final bill ("Abschlussrechnung") around the 16th of May which will cover the remaining days of your contract as well as the fee for ending it early.

As you wrote that your bank account will be closed on May 15th, here is what you can do in order to pay that final bill:
You can check this bill in your Mein o2 account (or the Mein o2 app) even if your contract has ended.
As soon as you can see the bill, transfer the required amount stated in it to our bank account (bank name, IBAN and BIC are mentioned at the bottom of your bill).
You can even do this from a different account in case your German one has been closed by that time already.

Please make absolutely sure to state your customer number ("Kundennummer 6012...") as the reason for transfer so that the sum can be attributed to your customer account.

By doing so as soon as the bill turns up, you'll not only avoid any open bills but also the sepa permission will not be "triggered", as it were, to tranfer the amount again from your then closed bank account later that month.

Hope this helps,
best regards,
Jan.
Hello Jan,

Thank you for your reply. I can see that in mein O2 that "gekündigt zum: 30.04.2019". Nevertheless, I want to get a written confirmation from O2 via email, which has been mentioned by me in the application form about how I want to get the cancellation letter. I hope O2 will confirm this in an official way.

Best Regards
Faisal
Hi @faisal06,

the sending of the mail is part of an automated process which will be carried out approximately 14 days after the cancellation has been approved, so you should get it some time this or next week at the latest.
You can also check the "Gut zu wissen" section of your upcoming invoice, which should state the Kündigungseingang (date of notice of termination) proving that your contract will be terminated in time.

In any case, you can also refer to our conversation in this thread as an additional confirmation of the termination of your contract. 🙂

Best regards,
Jan.
Hello Jan,

This is me Faisal, handy nummer 0176XXXX323. I had to open another account here because i could not log in to my previous account. As you said before I transferred the required amount of money, 37,04 Euro to the designated account, with giving my customer number in the reference. However, today I have got another email from O2 rechnung stating that I have to pay 5,20 euro for 10.05.2019 – 09.06.2019.

Now, my contract has already been cancelled from 29.04.2019 . Please why do you I have to pay this money when my contract is already cancelled.

P.S: I cannot log into mein o2 now and check why they have charged me this money.

Best Regards

Hi @faisal006 or @faisal06,

thanks for your reply.

As the last payment of 37,04 € came too late (on 1st June instead of 24th May), we charged you with a return debit fee and an overdue fine.

I would like to ask you to pay this amount of 5,20 € until 27th June 2019 the latest, in order to avoid further overdue fines.

I hope you now understand your last invoice.

Did you already receive a cancellation confirmation?

Loving greetings,
Tobias
Hello Tobias,

Thanks for your reply. I would transfer the money as you said. Could you please tell me the Account Name and IBAN of that account to which i would transfer that amount? I cannot log into mein o2 anymore so I don't know the IBAN and account name anymore.

Still now, I have not got any letter from O2 about the contract cancellation. Although I am not living in Germany anymore, I requested my landlord to keep my name on the door until this month. But still now i haven't got any letter from 02.

Hi @faisal006,

thanks a lot. That is very kind of you to keep your name on the letter box this month.

I therefore advised our department to send your cancellation confirmation to your German address. The letter will arrive within the next few days.

Please transfer the open amount to the following bank account:

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG
Hypo Vereinsbank
Verwendungszweck: your customer number
IBAN: DE16700202700005713153
BIC: HYVEDEMMXXX

Please make absolutely sure to state your customer number as the reason for transfer so that the sum can be attributed to your customer account.

Thanks a lot.

Loving greetings,
Tobias
