Paying for DSL XL 100mbps - only getting 50mbps!!!

When I signed up for XL over a year ago, only 50mbps was technically capable at that time. But since a few months ago, both the o2 website and my router show that my address is technically capable of 100mbps service. However, I'm still only receiving 50mbps service. I have already attempted a factory reset of my router and I'm still not getting the faster speeds. So it seems my o2 profile is being limited to the 50/10 mbps service. The attached screenshots are from my router and show that 100mbps is truly capable.

Could you please change my profile to enable the 100/40 mbps profile? Please let me know if you need any additional information from me. Thank you!!

Hay hay @diputz42,

I am happy to check if it is technically possible, however there is nothing we can do as long as you are looking to cancel the contract. With your consent, I will delete the preregistered cancellation and initiate everyting else as soon as possible. Just let me know if you'd like me to do so.

Best regards

Larissa

@o2_Larissa, sure you can go ahead and delete the existing preregistered cancellation for now. But if it's not fixed by the end of January, I unfortunately will have to initiate a new cancellation request. Would be great if you could help me find a solution as I hope it doesn't come to that!

@o2_Larissa‌ it's been nearly two months now, and my speeds are still at the slow 50mbps. I will be cancelling my contract next week unless this is fixed.

Hello @diputz42,

as far as I can see the 100Mbit profile has already been activated on your DSL connection. To ensure that you recieve that speed please reset yur router so it can synchronize new. If you still sdon't recieve the full speed after resetting the device feel free to contact us here.

Regards,

Lars

Maybe it is a misunderstanding. But did you pay for 100 MBit while only getting 50 MBit for many months?

If so I hope this was your deliberate choice and not result of poor consulting.

If you still want to cancel your contract I would suggest you switch to another provider and let them do the canceling of your old contract to avoid time without service and other problems.. But if you waited for such a long time you should probably wait now for the bandwidth change to get sorted out. Should be done in days or weeks at the most. Maybe you have 100 MBit available right now as O2_Lars said. But if not tell us here!

Yes, this was my deliberate choice. At the time, the 100mbps package had a 500GB limit per month, while the 50mbps package had a lower 300GB limit per month.

More recently, o2 has finally enabled the 100mbps service at my address, and have also removed the monthly data limits on all their plans. So I'm finally getting what I'm paying for.
