Can I order new O2 Router only or buy from O2 shop?

Hi,
Recently I ordered a DSL modem to do my modem request.

My question here is can I just order a new router now? I can not seem to find that option. All I see is "Router can be purchased with DSL Package" is there any option where we can buy the router?

2nd question: Can I buy router from any O2 shop directly? or it comes from O2 headquarter via post only?

Hi sikandar,

you can buy and use any router you can find on the market. This could be cheaper than ordering a router at o2.

Thanks for the answer. I currently have TP Link Router (https://www.tp-link.com/us/products/details/TL-WR940N.html) but I cannot configure as its just a router.

Should I buy a new Modem? If yes can you recommend any?

The mentioned router is a pure WLAN router. However, you need a VDSL router with built-in modem like the Fritzbox 7490 or the TP-Link Archer VR200v.

If I buy from O2, can I return the router when I terminate my contract and get some refund back as my contract is just for 6 months?

o2 does not sell routers, you can rent one at o2 for the contract period ... this must then be sent back after the contract ends.

Hello sikandar,

you can rent a router with us for a one time fee of 49,99 EUR plus 9,99 EUR shipment. Additionally, the monthly fee is 1,99 EUR. The router has to be returned then when the contract has ended. Please let us know if we shall order the router for you.

I have 3 questions:

1. How long the delivery takes after order?
2. Is the initial payment of 50 euros refundable when contract is finished?
3. If I buy anyother vdsl modem would that wprk directly by just pluging in dsl wire or there is some configuration?

Hello sikander,
the router will arrive within a few days after ordering, the initial payment is non refundable. You can use any router that supports VDSL 2 vectoring and just use the credentials for data and phone that we sent you via email or letter.

Hi,

I have an old O2 HomeBox 6641 which I borrowed from someone, I have configured it but it needs an activation pin which is not with router. What can be done in this case?

Also i haven't received any credentials with email or posr.

Hello sikander,
we sent a letter and an email with the internet credentials on the 6th of December, so please have a look into your mailbox, please also check your SPAM folder.
You should be able to find the VoIP credentials on the onlien portal within a short time.

You will not be able to use an old o2 router! You need a router without any(!) provider software or firmware.
